2. Behind the chicken colour scenes

Thought this might clarify how the book illustrations are made.
First start with a head, a wrong head in a few aspects.
(European red Silkie - no huge crest for animal welfare, wrong e-allele: eb instead of eWh).

Put it in the background and start to paint on a new layer.
Still some things not correct, feather under colour is grey and should be red/buff too, wattle missing due to wrong comb type: walnut instead of rose comb: added, shape of the crest can be better.
After a few hours doing, erasing, redoing the head is as meant.

Bird can look in another direction too, just flip it horizontal. Background added: green.
Rest of the chicken was not correct either, also re-done, tail on it, better wing.
For print the colour depth should be less, so lighter, because there is a difference between rgb screen and cmyk printing...

Check, check, done! New bird, now try to breed her.
